Documenting the week of Sept 30 - Oct 6
This week we step further into the seasonal realm of Halloween themes, keep our analog to digital balance in check and continue to find growth in many areas of the creative process.
Daily Art | Sept 30 - Oct 6
Apparently, I neglected to snap a pic of the iPad so you get the hi-res screen shot! Haha! I could do this with every piece but kind of like sharing the awkward cellphone photo. In the age of abundance and technology you shall get a lesser quality from me!
This was my concept for the supernatural prompt.
Up next, Late Night TV! These prompts have been so fun and the choice to commit to the Ipad has really helped me manage my expectations of the entire lot. I am learning and having fun and can not imagine the hosts at RetroSupply Co. could have envisioned anything less for the process.
Cursed! Haha! I have to admit, this made me laugh. The mysterious nature of someone peeking out from the corner to shock this poor soul with an undeserved zap!
Waiting games! Had a few minutes in a waiting room with my notepad. Analog art is still my favorite option. The digital stuff has been a fun change and a cool way to learn a new thing but having a pen and paper is unmatched, in my opinion. I hope to dabble in paints one day. It is all fun in its own way.
This is basically a “haunted” version of my real life cassette shelf. There is a band named “Haunted” that made me take this in a musical direction. Great album and one I would recommend checking out. I’ll link it below to dig into while you continue scrolling through the artworks.
Axe me no questions and I'll tell you no lies! The face in shock in the background totally makes up for some of the parts of this that went askew. I started working in some background filler here. A trick found in the past that re-emerged from the bag of tricks for this prompt.
Well, having Alien Abduction in the prompt was a homecoming for me. It feels like sliding back into those comfy pajamas. My heart finds endless joy in this theme. Similar to teeth, it somehow connects with my personal interests in an unspeakable way.
Ouija board making a second appearance! This time in its own prompt. Decided to dig into a touch of customization. It does not escape me that I should be working on cleaning up my text and alphabet use. Some artists have this locked in. My handwriting has always been a bit shabby. After years of hastily signing shipping documents, it has reached a level of illegible that would bring shame upon my elementary school teachers.
Oh! A morgue was NOT a thing in the prompt sheet that was exciting for me. In fact, it was one of the few prompts that initially creeped me out. Instead of turning away from the seriousness of it all, the best course for me was to embrace the inevitable and find a dark humored connection to it.
In the end, this turned out to be one of my favorites so far. The skyline is based on a family discussion we had earlier in the day. What does an afterlife look like? How do we fit in the cosmic cycle? In the process, the universe provided all of the answers and encouragement needed for this prompt.
Parasite… My first thought was to combine this creepy bug with a ventriloquist concept and drain the soul out of the onlooking crowd. More like a tick getting fatter from feeding on its supporting demographic. Instead of choosing to turn this on the crowd, it felt better to allow them to clearly see the parasite standing in front of them.
Goblin turned out to be a bit harder to control than my initial impulse expected. It did manifest onto the screen though. Perhaps not my finest work but it did introduce me to some new puzzle pieces, like the light shading on the stone background. We shall see how that plays out as we move forward. Until next week, thanks for reading/creeping along with me!

This was a really fun concept for the weekly theme. The idea of images inside of an image immediately resonated with my interests.
