Welcome to the Edge of the World / New Music Releases June 26, 2026

Friday has arrived and with it comes a new batch of heavy creatives.

The type of art that we share can be a wide range. Some heavy means it lingers in sadness while other heavy is a shear wall of sonic assault. Whichever model you prefer, or perhaps a touch of both, this week we have a well full of it for you to drink from. Let’s get into it!

New Album Releases …

Sea Moss & Miscomings - Big Tube Scene / zum045

seattle noise portland postpunk punk synth Los Angeles

This is the best way to deliver a split LP. It feels like both bands have truly come together in a supportive showcase of fun, collaboration and love for the art. Sea Moss opens with their new wave punk style that blends noise pop and synth. Miscomings takes the reigns for the second half with a touch more noise based aggression. It is a terrific pairing for a split. The special gem is the collaborative track that lands in the middle. Both artists working together in an expression of unity. This whole album rules.

Orga Mecha - Humanity.exe / Independent

electronic epic metal metal traditional heavy metal Los Angeles

In the true reflection of classic heavy metal, this album brings the spirit of the 80’s back to life and pushes it into the light. Heavy riffs full of chug, a straight forward rhythm section that pushes the songs forward and a combo of clean lead and backing vocals that will peel the paint off of your record room. Ripping solos and all of the trimmings that one could hope for to set the party on fire. No messing around here. Great album title and artwork to set the tone.

Bong Wizard - Transilvanian Munchies / Independent

metal doom doom metal sludge metal stoner metal stoner rock Houston

This album is on fire! You can watch the resin melt out of your speakers as these tunes smolder from one track to the next. Aggressive vocals over a wall of volume. One could imagine this was recorded in a weed dispensary after hours. These stoner sludge masters have delivered a dank batch of buds for the listener who wants heavy, weed and more heavy. Super fun to listen to and highly recommended. No pun intended.

CHILD - Rebirth / Heavy Psych Sounds

australia blues hard rock rock blues rock heavy blues heavy soul stoner Melbourne

Worshippers of the heavy 70’s will be stoked to find this album on their local record store shelves. The clean, bluesy vibes are equally as great and the distortion soaked riffs they accompany. This band is not messing around when it comes to writing a great album. This one could cross over to an audience that digs deep in the crates while still connecting with most anyone who is kicking back for an afternoon beer on the back porch after mowing the lawn. If this feels like a lane you could find yourself hanging with, this buds for you.

SOLYSTALGIA - Solystalgia / Nameless Grave Records

death metal metal ambient atmospheric doom metal death doom funeral doom post metal United States

Slow, brutal, depressive, doom-laced death metal that feels as cold as ice. Flirting with our emotions seems to be the thing this album feels is the mission. A massive wall of aggression that falls into sudden lulls of solemn and sobering sadness. The gruff and monstrous vocals are the perfect fit for such a format. There are moments that blast with speed but they are sporadic and go as quickly as the appear. This album is a testament to loss. It feels as heavy in its emotionally resonance as the musical soundtrack that pushes the sonic assault. The artwork is a perfect fit for such darkness.

New Video Drops …

Kallohonka - Psychic Surgery

Are you down for a strange, prog punk horror story? Check this one out! It feels like YES had children with CLUTCH and launched them out into space with a ZAPPA soundtrack on repeat. Upon their return to earth an otherworldly being attached itself to the craft, used the children for a hosts and is now infecting all who dare to to press play. Who will survive?

Miracle Blood - Wasteland (Official Video)

This band continues to impress me. Every track is heavy, noise-soaked punk format and hits in the best way. More volume, more jams. Hard hitting, tight delivery and destruction on 100%. The vocal style is basically clean but it an aggressive way. More like a sermon. The video is a hilarious reverse adventure through their touring life.

If These Trees Could Talk - Sea of Glass (Official)

If you are a fan of post-rock this name may not be new to you. If it is, it would be my recommendation to dig into this tune. It has the mellow vibes of a typical post-rock format with the quiet-loud-quiet instrumental rollercoaster. The band does it very well and have continued to be a welcome presence in the genre.

Baratro - Keep ‘em Needing (Official Video)

This new album is a killer. The noise rock monsters are stepping into some slower, shadowy areas that helps to build and strengthen their dynamic to higher levels. It feels like a huge boulder sitting on the edge of a cliff. It’s under structure holding it in place is slowly beginning to crack and crumble. The inevitable doom for all who stand below is unavoidable.

Pelegrin - “Eons” (Lyric video) | Ripple Music - 2026

Feeling like you need a touch of psychedelics to balance your day out? If the urge to launch into a new adventure is calling, this tune could be a terrific introduction to your spaced out playlist into the outer reaches. With their smooth sonic pallet and clean vocal delivery, the entire tune feels thick and heavy while cleanly delivered. It is a massive tone that continues to push a heady vibe through the entire track.
