New Album Releases …
SOLACE - Fading Failing Ruin / Magnetic Eye Records
metal stoner metal dirt metal doom metal heavy metal - hard rock riff rock stoner metal Asbury Park
For those who may not be familiar, this band solidified their place in the heavy, stoner rock community long ago. The riffs remain on point and the vocal presence continues to persevere. With clear tone and an underlying touch of Sabbath that we can all celebrate over, their newest batch of jams have been sealed and delivered. Another classic from the elders.

Troy the Band - (des) / JPEG2000
metal desert rock doom metal doomgaze noise rock psychedelic psychedelic rock stoner metal stoner rock & metal London
The heavy vibes of this band have had my attention long before now. This new album feels complete with its psychedelic edges mixed in massive waves of riff waves, doom aligned pulses and spacey explorations. The clean vocal is a great balance for how gnarly the sound bed actually is. Highly recommended.
Side note: Should we adopt a 10 point rating system for these weekly releases?
Illwind - The Unfolding at the End of Light / Personal Records
metal doom metal epic doom metal epic metal shoegaze metal traditional doom metal Santiago De Querétaro
Slow everything down. Lets the sorrowful moan of the voice echo over the vast emptiness. This feels like a monolithic iceberg adrift in mass to follow the current of its oceanic captive. Light shines upon it as if to attempt a humiliation in the warmth it provides. In such a place of isolation we slowly melt. The occasional storm cycle that washes it further out into the abyss to slowly disappear forever.

Coprolith (Canada) - Putrescence / Me Saco Un Ojo, Rotted Life
death metal metal underground death metal underground metal United Kingdom
Slow, lumbering death metal that feels as deep and disgusting as the molding grave it crawled out of. Tuned low and smothered in guttural, cookie monster growls, this album is not messing around. It has a touch of lo-fi that assists the native tone of the album. Corrosive, horrid, big chords and everything a doom/death fan could hope for.
Album artist is not noted.
TODOMAL - Graveyards of Joy / Season of Mist
metal dark rock doom metal epic doom metal space rock spirituality Barcelona
Dig in for a doom laced trip through the lands of psychedelia soaked heaviness. The vocals are clean and delivered without hesitation. Like a calling from one warrior who is pulling together a mighty cavalry of riders. Those who are looking forward to their day of showcase. The sunrise that will prove their worth in the battlefield of gods. The production is solid and feels as symphonic in nature as the imagery it evokes.

New Video Drops …
DDENT - Dis à la lune qu’elle vienne (album “Feeding the Void’s Luster” - 2026)
This artist is a new and welcomed name to my ear. They recently previewed this video on the Doomed & Stoned web page. The slow and lurching build checks all of the right boxes for me. Heavily weighted and set for speaker melting devastation. Ruff vocals that sound like they are gargling gravel. The combo is massive. This is the type of surprise that is always welcomed in my email.
“Feeding the Void’s Luster” releases July 24, 2026 on Chien Noir.
Holissstik - The Rhythm of Silence (Official Music Video)
Blending elements of electronic and moderately distorted sonic sections, this is a generally mellow track that is easy to sit with. The clean vocal seats comfortably in the gentle electronic pulse that established the tone of the song from the start. Clean guitar gently drifts until the heartbeat begins to accelerate. It never fully blasts off but does generate a sense of urgency and discomfort with accompanied visuals that accurately match the emotion.
“Chapter 1: This Endless Solitude” releases August 14, 2026 on Season of Mist.
THE SECRECY - SKY
Dark and looming in it’s general establishment of the song, the post-punk flavor kinda reminds me of a somber version of an early Pixies format. The band sound nothing like that, to be clear. It has a more subtle and gothic tone that builds while retaining space to breath. While delivering a heavier emotional statement, the weight of the song never pushes it into extreme territory. This is another new name for me this week. This tune has spiked my interest, for sure. There is additional info about the band on the Everything Is Noise web page where the band premiered this track.
“Pins & Needles” releases July 17, 2026 on Disorder Recordings
Stoned Jesus - Under the Skin (Official Video)
What a fun and huge tune this is! If you are ready to crank up the volume and kick your day into gear then this tune has what you need. Its aggressive in form but not in extremes. Its heady, loud, powerful but not dirty. In fact, the band has done a terrific job at keeping a direct connection the the metal world while keeping a foot in the sonic space that could easily appeal to a mass audience. A solid duality that could push them into a higher caliber of fan support. Highly recommended.
If reading the info correctly, this is a new single that will be featured in the second part of an album trilogy they are releasing on Season of Mist. The first part, titled Songs to Sun, is out now.
Allegaeon - Dark Matter Dynamics (Official Video)
Well, I can’t remember a time that discussing the state of modern heavy metal made me suggest we need more flamenco intros. It’s totally ok with me though! This band is seriously on fire and it makes sense that they would experiment with such. The technical level of the entire song is blistering. Screaming vocals sharpen the blades and set up the razor precision of the instrumentation to cut straight through everything in its path. If you are into progressive metal, this is your ticket. Amazing!
The Ossuary Lens is out now via Metal Blade Records.
Shadow of Jupiter - “Bones” (Official Music Video) | Ripple Music - 2026
Buckle up for space exploration. Imagine you have been awakened mid flight between earth and whatever new location for the rebirth of society may lay before you in the distance. It feels heavy, psychedelic, slight hazy feeling, a touch of questionable discomfort and yet the warm rockets continue to push you through the cold of space. Still on course but out of your control. That is kind of how heavy this tune feels. Now we wait. We wait for that new horizon in the great distance.
Bones releases July 10, 2026 via Ripple Music.
