New Album Releases …
Jesus Is The Path To Heaven - Power ! / Blade Records
experimental blood-ballads christpower deadchrist-bops devotional exorcist-metal folk-hell jesusblood-pop United States
Dig in for a slow and interesting hay ride through the dark wilderness of North Carolina. This could be considered folk, experimental or even psychedelic rock. Whatever version of these genres you decide to roll with, this album will capture your heart. The raw emotion is clear and effective. Clean vocals and patient song structures that allow plenty of time to breathe. This album is amazing.

HASEROT - Advent of Suffering / Redefining Darkness Records
90’s death metal dismember hm2 metal swedish death metal us death metal death metal edge of sanity entombed morbid angel osdm Houston
A direct assault of aggressive, blackened death metal. One might imagine they are in league with the evil eye that sends plague to the villagers solely so the people can suffer a little extra before the dark demons arrive to relieve them of their miseries. Fast, blistering and laced with gnarly vocals that bring to mind a pack of dark hounds attacking and ripping flesh from bone. These wolves are alright!

Slow Goat - Where the Wisest Fear to Tread / Independent
metal desert rock doom heavy metal heavy psychedelic stoner rock Portland
Take a dose of classic rock, a dash of stoner jams and pepper it up with a smooth roast of smoldering amplifier distortion and this will serve up nicely to a table of hungry rock and roll enthusiasts. Clean vocals pair nicely and soar like a bird of prey in flight over its heavy music hunting ground. This album sounds powerful with its moderate paced riffs and harmonious ceremony of sludge soaked doom. Praise be to the disciples of psychedelic heaviness.

SHADOW OF JUPITER - Bones / Ripple Music
rock fuzz rock heavy psych rock heavy underground stoner doom stoner rock Chicago
Feeling out of touch with the universe? This album will help you rekindle that missing link that connects you with worlds unseen. It feels thick, heavy, spacey and well seated in its conviction to launch us into the great beyond. Clean vocal , powerful drumming and big chords that pack a nice punch at the right times. Stoner vibes and a great listen for dark, smoke filled living rooms dripping with walls of TCH.

WAILIN STORMS - The Arsonist / Season of Mist
doom rock rock southern gothic North Carolina
The dark folk roots of North Carolina peek out from the rain-soaked soil as this album reflects on the somber blues built on generations of blood soaked earth. This album is emotionally heavy in a powerful and cathartic way. It’s as if we are drifting down a slow river with moss covered stones and weeping willows guiding the journey. The occasion rapid reminds the traveler that calm waters can turn treacherous at any moment and it’s best to be on guard at all times. When facing the decision to leave the water it is best to remember the serpent can be amongst any pathway we choose. This album is an A+ all around.

New Video Drops …
Miscreance - Scalp Ceremony (Official Video)
Looking for a dose of classic death metal? This tune is perfect for such an occasion. Total old school death thrash that nails down a place and time that metal meant more to the youth than an adult could possibly imagine. This group oozes with nostalgia for satanic panic and parents with nightmares of their children listening to heavy metal.
SEA SLEEPER - LUNAR DEGENERATES
This tune is not messing around! The entire thing takes you on an adventure through technical song structure. The band is razor sharp and delivers a tune that starts with a beautifully crafted mellow masterwork. It’s always leaning on the edge of the cliff until it eventually takes the plunge. When it eventually pushes over the edge it takes an equally technical direction with blistering intensity. There’s a mix of clean and aggressive vocals. This tune rips! Highly recommended.
Moon Destroys - Flowers (Official Music Video)
I caught this video debut via Decibel Magazine. Dripping with distortion like a slow molasses out of your speakers, this heavy rock fix is power packed and about as sticky as it can get. Clean vocal with conviction. Powerful rhythm holding down the vibe and an all around great tune to crank up. Fans who miss Floor will probably be onboard with this one!
THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT - Twisted Black (official video) // HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS Records
This video debut was featured on the It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine web page. The tune does something that I totally admire. It kicks in solely for the purpose of dragging you down to then bring you back up. Very well crafted in its dynamic of psychedelia. The vibes are dark and feel awkward in the way one might have anxiety about being in a crowded room even though you really want to watch the band. Great work here and brings to mind a touch of early Hawkwind.
Ealdor Bealu // Buried at Boothill (Official Music Video)
This video debut was featured on the Outlaws of the Sun web page. A fun tune that takes its time developing into an extreme monster. The video is equal in its storytelling pace. Little by little we peak further behind the curtain to experience the darkness in their musical delivery as well as visually in the hearts of mankind. Where the band has managed to strike a harmonious chord and deliver an epic tune, those portrayed in the video experience the true horror of having it all at your fingertips and what stone may be turned over with a heart full of greed.
