I can’t imagine a nicer group of folks to connect with. These tunes equal their majestic effort to connect the world in spiritual harmony. With touch stones of drifting meditation and rooted in a swirling wave of static soaked fuzz, these tunes are a tsunami of power with an beautiful underworld comfortably thriving in harmony underneath a chaos driven world. These tunes feel like they dropped right out of a 1970 Camaro. Rippin’ riffs, powerful lungs that have no issue spitting fire and an attack so heavy the gravity upon your foot is gonna push that gas pedal all the way through that cars floor. Imagine the smell of burnt rub, worn tire treads and checkered flags waiving in the rear view mirror. Great NWOTHM throwback jams! These tunes are as fun as the album art, which is uncredited.

Left To Die - Initium Mortis / Relapse Records

This album reeks of Tampa, Florida flavored death metal and I am all for it! If you are into supergroups and wish they chose to devour flesh and bone more often then you need not look further. This is the gravestone with your name on it. The stellar artwork will likely spark investigation regardless. Dark and moldy with a moderately up-tempo format that feels extremely accurate for the chunky tone of the riffs. This album is terrific and will hit home with death metal fans, regardless of the metal alumni featured in the credits.

EMPTINESS - Nowhere Speaks / Season of Mist

This feels extra creepy with it’s garbled vocal style, gothic undertones and high test chugging that feels like it has been blessed by the touch of those spacey Meshuggah lead guitars and some awkward industrial connection. Really interesting, unique, very heavy and deserves a listen or two. Great riffs embedded in an otherworldly channel that is keyed precisely between signals. What it produces is beautifully crafted segments that peak out from the sinister, overcast skies in summons.

Only Echoes - So Tightly Bound (Music Video)
Slow, meditative instrumental post metal. A floating, spacey tune that is pushing and swelling until it bursts the stitching. Well assembled and highly dynamic. The hyper pace of the later section of the song caught me off guard!
Prisoner of the Sun - Semantron (Official Video)
When it comes to solo projects they can be questionable. When it comes to YOB you can put your money on the table. When I read that Everything is Noise were debuting a track from the solo project of Yob Drummer Dave French I did not waste any time getting there. Very mellow, psychedelic, short and sweet. Can’t wait to hear more!
Poison The Preacher - “Things I Want” ft. Speed
The first time I heard this band they blistered my ears. This time is no different and they have combined this second assault with another create video effort. Skateboards, BMX and a public bus mob scene all swirl together in a perfectly chaotic way. This is thrash-tastic and an absolute killer!
MEDIA - Synapse - Official Music Video
Walking the edge of electronic, experimental and industrial, this is a slow burner for those who are willing to test the waters. The video is extremely bizarre and creative. The pair works nicely together to send the mind drifting away in question of the multiverse and where exactly is our place in a larger scale of this complex system of simulations. That or maybe its simply a fun video. You can decide for yourself.
KING ULTRAMEGA - Loud Love feat. Lzzy Hale & Dave Krusen (Official Music Video)
I am so glad the King Ultramega team continues to mix and match these amazing musicians. The ongoing celebration of Soundgarden and Chris Cornell is always a welcomed treat to see in my email. Highly recommended for those who are already a fan and equally hyped for those who may not know the tunes already. They will have their mind blown when they start drinking from this well.
