New Album Releases …

Cemetery Echo - Civitas Lacrimarum / Seeing Red Records

Step into the world of goth soaked heaviness. With witchy vibes brewing, this album oozes with an ‘80s-era rock and roll production style like a festering wound left to rot. The vocal delivery is non-abrasive but can be aggressive on occasion. The total package feels like a classic revisited already.

Argul - Soledad & Orgullo / Personal Records

This is a nice change of pace for those who are looking to crank up the volume and mellow out with a heady jam. Slow, grooving doom with nice structures guiding the way. Clean vocal delivery, solid tones, lots of development in the riffs and a feel good style that will have the heads nodding in approval before the first bong load is packed up and ready to fire.

FLORIST - Adrift / Ripple Music

Taking a page from the OM trance and meditation library, this album begins by walking the line of a faster paced Cisneros groove while the guitars slowly bleed their psychedelic flavor all over the formula. The band quickly takes leave of that route in search of a swampy, stoner based mind expansion. The bluesy grooves and clean vocal style make for a combo that is undeniably good. All while keeping in the pocket of that psychedelic atmosphere.

Faerie Ring - Faerie Ring / King Volume Records

Sounding bigger and heavier than ever, this album feels like the speakers are on fire and the band is soaking in the smoke with every note they play. The vocals are firm, clearly presented and soar over the smoldering yet unstoppable tunes. Like a steamroller made out of weed, this album will leave you crushed and firmly plastered to the ground. If you want big rock and roll chords and unapologetic good times, this is your ticket to ride. Don’t be afraid to commit.

UNTITLED WITH DRUMS - Made Flesh / Season of Mist

Contrary to the name, these songs do have titles and are backed with solid grooves that push them in a way that will have the listener leaning forward. The clean vocal delivery is up front and it has a solid attack. The music is tight and one could not imagine them requiring more tension. A dense wall of post-rock dipped alternative. Fans who have been looking back to the late 90’s in recent times will be stoked to hear this modern take on that era.

New Video Drops …

Clegane - Sun Decay (Official video)

Holy smokes! This rules. It starts at an intensity level 11 before dropping off to create some great dynamic shifts. There is a lean on the screaming style of vocal, which I enjoy. The loud-quiet-loud format opens the door for a mellower vocal to be present. The band is comfortable in the heaviest mode of destruction. Great tune and I cannot wait to hear more of this!

Ocean of Black Thoughts releases October 2 via ALMOST FAMOUS

Poison The Preacher - “Ran Out of Options” (Official Music Video)

At this stage, it feels like this band has delivered a new video every other week. ALL of them having been equally destructive in their hardcore spirit. Hopefully that statistic proves true throughout the remainder of their releases. Another solid example of the heavy metal spirit alive and well in the modern age. I damn near threw my keyboard through the wall during the breakdown.

Goat Major - “Wheels Of Gold” (Official Music Video) | Ripple Music - 2026

Thick stoner doom vibes soaked in black and white bliss. The tribal push of this tune generates a touch of adrenaline just before the band settles into a vibe that would have your windows down and an arm out of the window as you burn rubber down the highway. A solid power trio with a clean vocal delivery and hammering groove.

Death Comes Twice releases October 23rd on Ripple Music

Entheos - Golden Crown (Official Video)

The dark red tone of this video offers a haunting vibe. It is a solid metal format that thrives in emotion. Likely to be accepted in the popular discussion, without question. There is a mix of clean and aggressive vocal. That style rarely connects with me. Having stated that, the heavy vocal style presented here really resonates with me and is much appreciated. It steps outside of the norm that often pushes me away and feels much more real to the song than others landing in a similar genre. There is no question in its integrity. In place of cookie cutter formats, this is angry in the best way and that wins me over.

Empty On The Inside releases October 23rd via Metal Blade Records

Terra Black - In Stone (Official Video)

Slow, lumbering doom driven tones with cryptic and chanting style vocal vibes. Imagine a cave full of witches summoning the elder spirits. It is a patient and important event. One that can not be rushed. It must form in a timeline of its choosing. A cycle of the spirits and universe in unison. The rumbling reverberations feel ominous as the shadows continue to grow darker. Crank this tune up loud and start looking forward to this album when the moon reaches its peak.

Mirage releases September 18th via Bonebag Records
