New Album Releases …
Ninth Realm - Damnation’s Veil / Transcending Obscurity
Welcome to the age of retribution. This album is a slaughterhouse of terrific death-infused thrash aggression. If I had to hand you an album to kick your weekend off and carry into battle to vanquish your enemy, this would be the weapon of choice. From start to finish, it is tight, filled with malice and feels 100% better with the volume cranked to eleven. This is a must for heavy music fans who like their tempo in overdrive.
Side note: the color palette on this rad piece of cover art rules!

ATOMIC AGGRESSOR - The Occult Forces / Hells Headbangers
It may be possible that playing this album could rot your heart and send you into a maelstrom of chaos, vengeance, and total destruction of your living quarters or any other location you choose for listening. Blistering death metal that is equally comfortable in delivering killer metallic riffs and machine-gun-paced blast beats. The songs are tight and the snarling vocals pour out over the sonic onslaught in a well-balanced insane asylum of heaviness.

Sev Lezu - Blood Conscript / Ordovician Records
There is something special brewing here. Something emotionally raw and unique. A spirit of adventure that feels lost to others in this genre. Typically a black metal album would not keep my attention for long but this band has managed to use their alchemy to blend ear-catching metallic riffs into a cleanly produced, technically aggressive path that others have yet to discover. They carve their mark into stone and bring something fresh to the lair. It’s much more than blackened, it feels like they have stepped into the world of prog and masked it with some witchy spell of sinister intent.

MISCREANCE - Reminiscence / Season of Mist
The tone of this album looks and feels like it was pulled straight out of a sticker-covered, late 80s cassette bin belonging to your friend’s mysterious older brother. Neglecting the standing “DO NOT TOUCH” policy placed upon it won’t just get your ass kicked by the album, so will his brother when this is discovered missing or askew. Now you sneak it away to some musty, garage that no one should have been lurking around anyway, play it in a 6xD battery-powered boombox and feel your mind melting. This sound is classic! Worship at the altar of technical death metal and its spirit feels as good today as your favorite hoodie on a cool, fall evening. This album is gnarly!

Nephila - HULDRA / Majestic Mountain Records
Crank up that stereo because this blues-soaked, classic rock vibe feels like a great way to get your weekend party started. Stacked guitar leads equally balanced with keys that elevate the entire rock-and-roll atmosphere to a higher level. Combine that with a driving rhythm section and some solid, dual vocal deliveries that are as clean and fresh as the cool morning breeze. The overall collective output is as pleasing to the ear as the eye observing that same morning’s dew glistening in the rays of the rising sun. Great balance among a large ensemble of musicians and as comforting to sit with as one could ask for.

New Video Drops …
Firekeeper Alliance x Neurosis Short Film; We Are Torn Wide Open and Mirror Deep
We recently witnessed the return of Neurosis to the live environment at the Fire In The Mountains festival. Along with their recent album release and taking the stage, the Firekeeper Alliance has assembled a short film that showcases a small piece of the spirit for which the band and event have met in collaboration.
Wailin Storms - It’s All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used To Be (Official Video)
You may have already caught a touch of my praise for this band’s recent album. If not, here is a great place to start digging into the heart of the band and exactly how it has come to captivate me. With a slow, somber and moody nature, this melancholy video is a perfect representation of the dark shadows and simultaneous beauty the band can blend so seamlessly.
Swans - Newly Sentient Being
Is there a place in this blog for a promotional video? When it comes to SWANS anything is possible. Having been gifted the chance to witness the band perform in recent years, it is hard to express what actually transmits between the stage and audience as their songs build and collapse. It is with extreme excitement that we have yet another monster work of art coming from them. This clip gives me chills remembering the band’s performance and leaves me wanting more of this new level of sonic and cathartic turbulence.
Svindel - “Jupiterbarn” (Official Music Video) | Ripple Music - 2026
This is a solid trip into the third eye of the rock and roll other-verse. A touch of psychedelic matched with a fun, space age video concept. Press play on this mind-expanding dose of good times and enjoy the ride.
MONOLORD - Iodine (Official Music Video)
This band continues to deliver. With their power hungry song structures, Godzilla-like tone, steamroller of a rhythm section and a clean vocals that layer over the top of it all to somehow make things feel even heavier. No complaints here. This is about as solid as we could ask for.
