THE BLEEDING - Godless Communion / Redefining Darkness
Unleashed upon the inhabitants of Earth, these tunes slice through the atmosphere with sharpened precision. Their weaponry slashes everything standing, leaving bits and pieces as carrion. The album presents extreme brutality with aggression at maximum speed. The blistering rhythm section triggers a machine-gun-paced attack as the death metal growls layer into the mix at a precise level for unmatched assassination.

Necrocene - Scumocracy / Personal Records
This immediately brings to mind classic thrash vibes with death-tinged vocals. It adds that little extra grit into this mixture of awesomeness to create the type of album my metal heart craves. It seems to ditch the modern trendy aspects and digs into the purity of origin. I find myself reminiscing about old cassette decks, long drives to hole-in-the-wall music shops and the communion of those who offer their time and focus to the riff. As this bleeds death by genre it floods my mind with the best of times. Consider this my call to you, and I am shoving the phone into the speaker: “Listen to this!”

Terra Black - Mirage / Bonebag Records
Taking the slower path to heaviness, this album serves a sonic palette that connects with something deeper and a little more distant. The shadows feel their call as the songs build upon an apparitional pull into the light. Gloom and fuzz merge under the astrological time of eclipse and rebirth. The clean vocal presentations become the siren song that will bring those from the outer reaches to our doorstep. This is a mystical adventure that dances with all that surrounds us.

Remote Viewing - State Violence / Human Worth
Angry and directly en route to destroy everyone and everything that reeks of injustice. A bludgeoning, sludge-dosed, noise rock steamroller that cannot be stopped. The snarling vocal delivers a stream-of-consciousness look into the angst and pain this world can pour over us. The trap is set and we sit writhing in a technological nightmare that, even as we resist it, becomes more directly harnessed toward our ruin. This is the most powerful musical statement I have heard this month. Extreme volume, depth, emotion, and disappointment in humanity.

Stinking Lizaveta - Cassandra, Prophet of Doom / SRA Records
The riffs never stop when it comes to this group. They have been writing and performing their unique brand of doom-jazz, math-punk since the ‘90s, and it continues to deliver a powerful punch. They can knock a few teeth loose while igniting the urge to raise a fist into the air and keep the party going. These songs are high energy and feel great to crank up at high volumes. Step over the edge and add this album to your list of assassins.
