A look back at some of March 2026's noteworthy releases.

March was a great month for music. As always, it is near impossible to keep up with everything landing on the table. Here is a look back at a few things that should have caught your attention, in case you missed them.

An Undying Love For A Burning World by Neurosis

metal doom industrial post-metal progressive metal sludge United States

It is undeniable that Neurosis shook the heavy music world in the best way possible with their release of An Undying Love For A Burning World.

It felt like the entire community was in total celebration. One deep gasp of excitement and an exhaling sigh of relieve, and a tingling, slow, oxygen filled headrush and shared emotional reward that is continuing to carry us through. Easily my favorite of the month for more reasons that simply listening. This album reinvigorated our ability to feel hope in dark times.

Generation Ship: Endless Drift Through Infinity by Desert Collider

alternative hard rock italy psychedelic rawk rock science fiction stoner rock stoner rock United States

If you are a fan of Kyuss-era vibes and are equally willing to step into the world of spaced out fuzz, this record is calling your name. Had it not been for the surprise drop noted in the opening this post, Desert Collider would have been my album of the month (out of the ones I could dig into).

Fans of Los Natas should also take note of this record. It’s a little more aggressive but fits that mold.

Karakuchi by KALEIDOBOLT

progressive rock rock psychedelic rock Helsinki

Outstanding cover art! Reminds me of a Bolt Thrower album and my fingers are crossed that this was purposely done. Either way, this is a riff machine and not a death metal tribute album. The band consistently lands attack after attack of serious energy. Sonically charged and delivered with precision.

Heavy rock fans who need blistering riff and clean vocals should dig this one.

Emerald Dream by Fangus

rock freak rock heavy psych heavy rock proto-metal psychedelic Montreal

The next time some twerp hits you with a, “Maaaaan, rock and roll is dead. New music isn’t as good as it used to be.” Do me a favor and smack them across the ears with this album. It feels like it stepped right out of a time machine and gets better every time it plays. Grab your heavy rock fans and fire up the stereo. The party is about to get started.

Challenging Music for Difficult People by Stimmerman

alternative New York

Ready for that experimental sonic pallet to get you through your next half hour? This record is amazing! Mixing parts math rock, art rock, prog, experimental metal and more, this one will not land with everyone but I am excited for those that it does.

Albums like this do not come around very often and they can get buried by other, more digestible albums. It may take a listen or two but the juice is worth the squeeze. Insanely good.

Nagalite by LILI REFRAIN

metal pagan folk metal psychedelic rock ritual dark ambient Rome

Another album worthy of praise for the cover art for. Unsettling and yet it generated so much interest. It took me a moment of simply checking out the cover image before listening. Once the commitment was made, my mind was instantaneously hooked. The soaring vocal/synth intro helped me to lay down my guard and welcome the approaching cool wave that would soon wash over the ears.

This is a more mellow album than the others on the list so be patient. Such a beautiful experience. Maybe a slow morning with coffee or an easy evening with a book or sketch pad is the environment to welcome this one.

No Peace by NO/MÁS

crossover metal metal brujeria crust punk deathgrind grindcore hardcore hardcore punk napalm death Washington

It is not my intention to shock the system by following the most mellow album on the list with the most brutal. If straight up crushing, hardcore crossover, crust punk soaked grind makes your mouth water there is no need to wait any longer. Lots of genre drops in the previous text because they all apply. The album is well recorded for maximum effect. Your neighbors will know know no peace (see what just happened there?) when you crank this puppy up!

Get to it!!!

If you made it this far, thank you and I hope this helped you unearth something enjoyable to listen to or perhaps helped you burn a few minutes reading in your down time.
