Brutal Truth - Need to Control
(grind, extreme (not like the band), death grind)
(New York)
(Earache)
Some say you should take life by the horns but Need to Control by Brutal Truth grabs it by the throat and chokes it out without mercy.
There is a real possibility that I may have passed on this band if not for hearing the sludgy album opener “Collapse” before any other material. It set a tone and planted a seed of interest that required my ears to sit through the entire experience. On occasion I have found myself digging into selected works, yet grind core has never been my go to genre. This album is intense, angry, disgusting and absolutely brilliant. The malicious vocal delivery pulverizes, the machine gun drum attack slaughters everything and precision delivery of the guitar and bass contain an insanity soaked craft proving this band is no joke. They drift in and out of some serious riffs and maintain a dominant presence within and outside the death/grind elements.
Stand aside and accept the total destruction of everything.
