There is nothing wrong with finding a style of music that feels comfortable and sticking with it. In fact, most people who choose an AM/FM listening schedule do that very thing. Repetition, familiarity and comfort is what they are likely seeking, in a sense. Artists like Einsturzende Neubauten, which I have never pronounced correctly, are more directed at the adventurous listener who wants to experience something new, fresh, unheard. It's an artistic quest. In many ways, a choice to listen to this genre of experimental, noise formatted or avant-garde recordings is a welcome way to cleanse the musical palette. It's a source to disconnect or reconnect communications that may have been altered by consistent, structured formats in the music consuming brain. There is no denying there is a lot of music drifting through our world. When the feeling starts to creep in that, "You;ve heard it all.'' try disconnecting from the normal sounds and let something unconventional work its magic.
