Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son + Piece of Mind + Number of the Beast

Three for Thursday! Let's Talk About...
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son + Piece of Mind + Number of the Beast LP

From 1980 to 1988 Iron Maiden managed to release seven studio albums. Unlike many of their colleagues in the metal community, they write songs that exceed expectations and have zero interest in MTV or the mainstream music model. The songs are generally epic in scope, often with a specific theme or concept in mind. No "Baby, Baby" jams here. They defy the three minute pop song structures so many still model their songs after. Any band would be stoked to have one of these albums in their discography. Now include the most iconic heavy metal artist and mascot that has ever been created. Clearly the best eye candy from Derek Riggs plus the songwriting power deserved of such. Is there a band that has a stronger 8 year album sequence? Oh, we are not even talking about the massive world touring schedules, live albums and everything else that was accomplished in that time. Up the irons because this is one of the most important bands in heavy metal history and my inner child is still as excited about these records as ever. Shout out to Corey Pass who is my forever homie in the Iron Maiden universe. RIP. File under Bobby's Essential Listening.

Help me! Help me to find my true self without seeing the future! Save me! Save me from torturing myself even within my dreams…
