Joe Farrell - Outback LP
We are sending you drifting toward the Record Store Day weekend with a terrific and somewhat less popular jazz classic. Outback has some serious players in the cast and crew and when you read the names you will know this album is a contender. It dabbles in smooth, progressive, acid style jazz but nothing that goes so far off base it will disconnect with the average jazz standard fan. It's also going into places that perk up the ears of a listener ready to dig deep or melt down with the band. These are the records in the jazz world that I love to discover. It walks a fine line and that teeter totter style really resonates with me, emotionally. That spirit can not be duplicated and is true to the players featured on such albums.
