German black metal visionaries Der Weg Einer Freiheit are unveiling “Eos” as the lead single from their upcoming sixth album Innern. The song is a visceral meditation on destruction and renewal; it adopts the voice of a fallen soldier, whose final hope is to become one with the earth, a vessel for life rather than a casualty of violence. Innern comes out September 12th on Season of Mist.

Metal Injection hosts video premiere for “Tools Of The Trade,” from Oakland, California death metal crew BARBAROUS. The track is found on the band’s debut LP, Initium Mors, nearing release on August 1st via Creator-Destructor Records.
Canadian death metal outfit LAST RETCH has released “In the Polder They Reek”, the first single from their forthcoming album Abject Cruelty, due out September 26, 2025 via Time to Kill Records.
In a landmark collaboration to support the mental health and well-being of music creators, Reigning Phoenix Music and MusiCares have teamed up to spotlight KING ULTRAMEGA, a bold new tribute project honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell. KING ULTRAMEGA debuts today with a powerful reimagining of Soundgarden’s “Rusty Cage,” released via Reigning Phoenix Music.
