Though it all started with Surfer Rosa for me, purchasing this cassette is actually a more vivid memory. Staring at the cover art and thinking about what this could possibly sound like. This was in a day that you spent all week saving lunch money to buy a new tape at the mall when the weekend arrived. Among those struggles, a band could release a stinker at any moment. Debut, new release, unless they had a hit on the MTV rotation, well, that hard earned $7.99 was at serious risk of going down the toilet with a blind purchase. Thankfully this was worth every penny and further solidified my love for the band. These days you have these trusty social media posts to help along on a new or classic discovery.
