MIR: Thank you for taking the time to do this. Please introduce yourself to the readers.
Henrik: Slôdder are a 4-piece band from Karlstad, Sweden. We make songs about the dark and gloomy side of living. Its me, Henrik, on vocals, another Henrik on the drums, C-J plays guitar and Martin plays bass and additional vocals. We usually describe our music as the soundtrack to every bad decision ever made.
MIR: How did you get started on this adventure?
Henrik: Me and the other Henrik bonded over a Iron Monkey patch, drunk as hell at a local bar in 2014 and we decided to start a band. Give or take a month or two and we got Martin on board and then we duped C-J into joining.
MIR: If you could go back to the day you started and give yourself one piece of advice, what would that be?
Henrik: Don't rush it, slow and steady wins the race. Trust your material.
MIR: What is something that you have adopted that brings value to your process?
Henrik: Always rehearse and write songs as a unit.
MIR: Please highlight some of the things you enjoy most about what you do.
Henrik: Playing live shows, the weekly get together to rehearse or write tunes, meeting other bands and people. Getting drunk with strangers.
MIR: What are some of your current goals? Things you may hope to achieve in the next 12-24 months or further.
Henrik: We would love to get a tour going in 2026 thru Europe but we are all grown men with families, kids and that dreaded 9-5 life so its hard to get things organized in a way that works out for everyone. But basically just get out and play more shows is the goal for the next 12 months.
MIR: What is an unpopular opinion that you subscribe to or a popular opinion that you disagree with?
Henrik: Kyuss was never great, haha
MIR: Is there anything you want to mention as we close?
Henrik: We are nothing without the people that enjoy our music, buys our stuff, the people that book us to their venues and people that come to the shows. That is something we are very grateful. All the magazines, blogs and pods that pick up on our shit, very grateful for that too. We would like to get a beer with each and everyone of you.
MIR: Thank you for your time and I appreciate what you are doing.
