Sylvaine - Eg Er Framand EP (Season of Mist 2024)

"Sylvaine calls out from the deepest and darkest depths of emotion, only to reverberate with the ethereal power of her voice."

Sylvaine - Eg Er Framand EP

Like a soft and distant echo from the hills, there is an alluring voice calling out through the fog covered dreamscape.

As the sunbeams break through, Sylvaine delivers an emotional song that drifts slowly from the hills toward the sea. As if we are leaving all that we love and setting sail into the unknown. Through the fog and desolation, seeking soft winds that will carry our weary bodies to a new home. The lands we love, the lands we have lost, laid to waste by the hand of man, are shrinking in the distance.
There is a deep sadness in these siren songs. Like the wispy, crackling of a funeral pyre alight by the shore. Perhaps it is the heaviness of our love, soon to be swallowed by the ocean.

There is minimal musical underbelly. The sound of light percussive bumps and graceful drones will join in the space where this elegantly mysterious voice remains center stage. Perhaps these ships are guided to the undying lands or guided by the Valkyrie carrying warriors to their time in Valhalla.

Though I do not speak the tongue of these poems, they are a welcomed hymn of enchantment. A spiritual calling within the plague of humanities greed and it's lust for war that has led us to the end of our path.
