Venom - Black Metal LP
We have certainly been here before. Welcome back, old friend. Since the early 80's this record has been seen lurking in the library of heavy metal fans around the globe. Many credit this record as the original incarnation of the term black metal, a term for a genre that would become known to the world for a typically faster, anxious and blatantly anti-production conscious delivery. The production aspect has changed a bit over the years and many bands are expanding what the term actually defines. So, in our modern world, it's not just a scary album name, it's a modern form of expression. Either way, this record is pretty tame in comparison to the current model and you have to raise your fist in the air when you hear, "Lay down your soul to the gods rock n roll."
