Carole King - Tapestry
Posted by BOBBY RAYFIELD on
You may not realize it but there is a good chance you have heard the beautiful voice of Carole King soaring through the air from speakers in your proximity throughout your entire life. She has delivered so many pleasing musical moments that it has now become ingrained into our culture from the 70's and beyond. Even if her style is not your typical fair, we would be hard pressed to find someone who does not appreciate her delicate and welcoming voice.
Graveyard - 6

Graveyard happens to be one of my favorite modern era bands. Where one could ramble on about what appeals about their style, I will pause those elements of appreciation to acknowledge how they continue to captivate me. A new record that clearly sounds like Graveyard and yet it has not been heard before. They are developing an evolution in the discography that would allow a fan like myself to listen chronologically or sporadically without hearing two of the same records. High praise to attempt this without falling out with the fans. Another A+ from the team, in my opinion.
Sunburned Hand of the Man - Pick A Day To Die

This album is a free spirit without boundaries. It is not afraid to adopt the slow metamorphosis song structure that would often turn some listeners away due to lack of patience. The reward is in the psychedelic adventure and how the tones slowly bring you deep into their world and bursts with fruitful, delicious surprises.
Black Crowes - Amorica

An endless supply of high quality rock that always hits the spot. What else can someone say about the early years (or any era) of the Black Crowes? When you need an extra boost in your blues based rock and roll listening, you can always bet your money on these guys delivering. It rarely gets better than this.
Dopelord - Songs For Satan

"Songs for Satan is a moment of critical mass for Warsaw, Poland’s DOPELORD. A blast of devil-worship in the riffing realms is nothing new, and while they aren't the first band to openly embrace the motif, their amplified heresy is uniquely triumphant, their fuzz-drenched apostasy genuine and glorious." ~ Blues Funeral Recordings
